Iron Removal Media (MnO2) for Borewell and Industrial Water in the Philippines

Innovacorp India Pvt Ltd manufactures, exports and supplies iron removal media for the Philippines — catalytic MnO2 media for dissolved iron and manganese removal from borewell water and industrial process water. The media is regenerated with an oxidant and supplied in 25 kg bags and jumbo bags. Call +91-9312871070 to discuss grade and bed design.

How Iron Removal Media Works

Dissolved iron in borewell water is clear when it comes out of the ground, and turns brown once it meets air. That is the ferrous (Fe²⁺) iron oxidising to ferric (Fe³⁺) and precipitating as rust. A catalytic MnO2 bed speeds up that oxidation inside the filter, so the iron is captured in the bed instead of downstream on fixtures, membranes or heat exchangers. The bed is backwashed periodically to remove the captured solids, and regenerated with an oxidant when the catalytic capacity drops.

Where the Media Fits in the Treatment Line

  • Borewell water: ahead of softener, RO or DM plant, to remove iron before it fouls the membrane.
  • Industrial process water: ahead of heat exchangers and cooling systems.
  • Municipal supply: iron and manganese removal before distribution.
  • Effluent polishing: iron removal before discharge.

Media Grades We Supply

  • MnO2 catalytic media: for dissolved iron and manganese removal; regenerated with KMnO4 or chlorine.
  • Greensand: older catalytic media; still used where the bed is already designed for it.
  • Birm / manganese-treated silica: used for low-iron water with dissolved oxygen present.

Grade selection depends on the iron concentration, pH, dissolved oxygen and any manganese or arsenic present. We confirm the grade against your water analysis.

Specification values are confirmed per batch against the TDS. Bed design — depth, flow rate and backwash rate — is confirmed from your water analysis and filter vessel.

Application and Bed Design

  • Bed depth: typically 700–1000 mm for iron removal, dependent on iron load.
  • Service flow rate: set by the media and the iron concentration in your water.
  • Backwash: periodic backwash to remove captured solids; frequency depends on the iron load.
  • Regeneration: KMnO4 or chlorine regeneration when the catalytic capacity drops — dose confirmed from the media TDS.

Iron removal capacity depends on pH, iron concentration and any organic matter in the water. We share a bed design worksheet with your engineers before dispatch.

Packing and Shipment to the Philippines

  • Media supplied in 25 kg bags and jumbo bags for bulk orders.
  • Packing size confirmed against order quantity and route (container or LCL).
  • Shipment documents: commercial invoice, packing list, COA and SDS.
  • Import and registration requirements are confirmed per buyer's country before dispatch.

Application Areas in the Philippines

  • Borewell water treatment: residential and commercial iron removal.
  • Industrial WTP: pre-treatment ahead of RO, DM plant and softeners.
  • Cooling water: iron control before heat exchangers and cooling towers.
  • Effluent treatment (ETP): iron removal before discharge.
  • Sugar processing: process water iron control (application to be confirmed against your process stage).

What Working With Us Looks Like

  • Media grade matched to your water analysis, not a generic SKU.
  • Consistent specification across repeat orders, with COA per batch.
  • Bed design worksheet and backwash guidance shared before dispatch.
  • Technical support for loading and first-cycle adjustments.

Technical Support

Share your water analysis (iron, manganese, pH, dissolved oxygen, flow rate) and the filter vessel dimensions. Our team suggests media type, bed depth, flow rate and backwash rate, and supports adjustments during the first cycle. Call +91-9312871070.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which iron removal media is used for high-iron groundwater in the Philippines?

Catalytic MnO2 media is commonly used for dissolved iron and manganese removal from borewell water. The media oxidises dissolved iron to a filterable form and is regenerated with an oxidant (typically KMnO4 or chlorine). The right grade is confirmed against your water analysis.

Can MnO2 media remove arsenic from borewell water in the Philippines?

Arsenic co-precipitation with iron is a recognised mechanism on MnO2 media. Whether it applies to your water depends on the arsenic species, the iron-to-arsenic ratio and the pH. Confirm against your water analysis before designing the bed.

How is iron removal media packed for shipment to the Philippines?

Media is supplied in 25 kg bags and jumbo bags suited to container and LCL shipments. Packing size is confirmed against order quantity and route.

What backwash and regeneration does MnO2 media need?

MnO2 media is backwashed periodically to remove captured solids, and regenerated with an oxidant when the catalytic capacity drops. Backwash rate, frequency and regeneration dose are confirmed from your filter design and water analysis. Call +91-9312871070.
