Cooling Tower Chemicals for High-TDS Systems in Saudi Arabia

Innovacorp India Pvt Ltd manufactures, exports, and supplies cooling tower chemicals to industrial plants in Saudi Arabia. The range covers scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, oxidizing and non-oxidizing biocides, and bio-dispersants. Technical support is available across Saudi Arabia from our New Delhi office.

What Makes Saudi Cooling Water Different

A cooling tower in Riyadh or Yanbu runs on make-up water that is often desalinated, blended, or high in total dissolved solids (TDS). The ambient temperature in summer pushes the circulating water temperature higher than in temperate climates, which raises both the scaling tendency and the biological growth rate. The combination means the chemical program cannot be a copy of a temperate-climate program — it has to be set for high TDS, high heat, and high evaporation. That is the starting point for every program we design for a Saudi plant.

Cycles of Concentration (COC) — The Number That Sets Everything

COC is the ratio of dissolved solids in the circulating water to dissolved solids in the make-up water. A higher COC means less make-up water and less blowdown — good for water economy, which matters in Saudi Arabia. But a higher COC also means higher scaling and corrosion risk. In a high-TDS make-up water, the COC ceiling is lower than in a soft-water plant. The chemical program is set for the COC your tower actually runs at, not a generic number.

Make-up Water TDS Typical COC Ceiling Chemical Demand
Low (< 500 ppm) 4 to 6 Standard inhibitor and biocide program
Medium (500 to 1500 ppm) 3 to 4 Higher inhibitor dose, tighter control
High (> 1500 ppm) 2 to 3 Specialty inhibitor package, close monitoring

The Four Problems the Program Addresses

1. Scale

Calcium carbonate and silica deposit on hot heat transfer surfaces. In Saudi Arabia's high evaporation conditions, the concentration factor is higher, so the scaling tendency is higher. Scale inhibitors and antiscalants keep these minerals in suspension so they leave with the blowdown. Dose is set based on COC, make-up water hardness, and system volume.

2. Corrosion

Dissolved oxygen, chloride, and low pH drive corrosion on mild steel and copper alloys. High chloride in the make-up water makes pitting a particular concern. Corrosion inhibitors form a thin film on the metal surface that limits attack. The correct inhibitor package depends on the metallurgy and the chloride level, and is set after a water analysis.

3. Biofouling

High ambient temperatures in Saudi Arabia support rapid microbial growth. Biofilm forms on pipe walls, reduces heat transfer, and shelters bacteria from biocide attack. The program uses a combination of oxidizing biocides (for routine control) and non-oxidizing biocides (for biofilm penetration), with bio-dispersants to break up the film. Dose and frequency are set after a baseline microbial test.

4. Fouling

Suspended solids — dust, organic debris, corrosion products — settle in low-flow areas of the tower basin and distribution pipes. In Saudi Arabia's dust-prone environment, the load can be higher than in temperate climates. Dispersants keep these solids suspended so they leave with the blowdown.

Where We Supply in Saudi Arabia

We supply to industrial plants across Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Yanbu. Delivery is arranged through our export logistics partners. For a specific location, call +91-9312871070.

What We Do Not Claim

We do not claim zero downtime, zero scaling, or complete microbial elimination. Cooling tower chemistry is a control program, not a guarantee. We also do not claim that the chemicals can be discharged without treatment — cooling tower blowdown needs to meet local discharge norms, and the program is designed with that in mind. What the program does is help control scale, corrosion, and biofilm within the operating window of your tower.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which cooling tower chemicals does Innovacorp supply to Saudi Arabia?

We manufacture, export and supply scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, oxidizing biocides, non-oxidizing biocides, and bio-dispersants for cooling towers in Saudi Arabia. The product mix is confirmed after a cooling water analysis and site survey.

How is biofouling handled in Saudi Arabia's high-temperature cooling systems?

High ambient temperatures support rapid microbial growth in cooling circuits. We supply non-oxidizing biocides and bio-dispersants for biofilm control. The dose and frequency are set after a baseline microbial test on your cooling water, and the program is reviewed through the summer season.

What is the typical dosage of cooling tower chemicals in Saudi Arabia?

Dosage depends on the cycles of concentration (COC), make-up water TDS, and system volume. Scale and corrosion inhibitors are typically dosed at 5 to 50 ppm in the circulating water, with biocide dose set by microbial load. Our technical team supports trial design and dose confirmation.

Do you supply cooling tower chemicals in bulk to Saudi Arabia?

Yes. We manufacture, export and supply cooling tower chemicals in packing of 5 L, 20 L, 35 L, and 200 L HDPE carboys and drums. For Saudi Arabia orders, call +91-9312871070.
